    Default 12x12x12 for one Crestie?

The Petco near me has 2 12x12x12 Exo's for a low price- clearance and all. But since my brain is so fogged up, I can't recall if a 12x12x12 is ok for a single crestie or not. I was eyeballing it, and I thought a 10 gallon would have more room... but I am not good at those sorts of things. I know a 10g would definately offer more vertical space if turned long-ways.

They've got three cresties in, too. The sales gal is a tad clueless... enthuisiastic, though. I asked what they do when their tails fall off... she said "Let them grow back". I didn't have the heart to correct her, she really was trying.

I really love of the cresties they had, too, but I know I can't get him. $50, plus supplies... though I DO have a broken 10g at my mother's place.... >.>

    http://animal-world.com/encyclo/info.../calculate.htm

There is a website that I use to calculate all the tanks!!
Hope that helps you figure out how many gallons per size of tank.

I'm thinking I wouldn't go any smaller then a 12x12x18. Which I what I'm about to order for my little Petco cresties.

    The 18x18x24 is HUGE... it's a 33.66 gallon tank!
That is what I'm housing TWO adult CHAHOUAS in.

You would NOT have to go that big for one crestie, Rainsong.
The 12x12x18 would be just fine for one crestie. I know that money is the issue, but I do know how badly you want one!!

Add substrate and a drainage layer and that gets pretty small pretty quick. There is no way I would put my gecko in a 12x12x12 or even 12x12x18....

Not everyone uses natural tanks . . . As Jennsen said, the 12x12x18 is as small as I would go for an adult, your better off with 18x18x18 though, that way you can throw in another gecko if you get one :-). There is no way in hell I would put one cresty in an 18x18x24 unless I was rolling in money or it was my only cresty. Very few people would.

Ah well, turns out it's a bust anyways. Myabe they were 12x12x18- not sure, now.

But money is too tight, and I'll bet you by the time it isn't, they'll both be gone. Thank you for the link, too! At PetCo, I was thinking that I needed to dig a link like that up when I got home, and I forgot LOL

I'm all out of wack now. The money thing is a mess... more stress lol I hadn't recovered from the copious amounts of it I've been under recently, yet, either. Oh well.

    Sorry Rainsong!
You'll get your lil crestie when the time is right!

But if you are only able to afford one crestie: DUE to money, then I would go with the 12x12x18 tank.
Go with fake everything. Either paper towel substrate or Reptile Carpet (which I've been using and my chewies seem to really like it).
Get a branch from outside, clean it good. (Or buy one).
Some fake plants at the pet store or Michaels, or Walmart... anywhere they sell fake plants.
    Food ledge (or dish)
    Temp gauge.
Then you have yourself a nice simple, (cheap) crestie home!

yeah a 12x12x12 is only about 7.4 gallons, while a 12x12x18 is 11.2gal. But it has a lot of vertical space, so I think it's fine for 1 crested. Just had to throw that in there

    Default 18x18x24

I am housing my single crested gecko in a 33.66. It was either that or 12x12x18 (12 gallons) which is too small. I would rather go big than too small.
