Exclamation Tank Contest ~ Month Two

Congratulations to Shadowkorin for winning the March Contest. Wonderful tank Shadowkorin!

This month we are adding a theme into the rules. The poll for the themes worked out so this month the theme will be juvenile and/or baby tanks. There was some confusion for what the definition of "juvenile" is in terms of geckos. We came to the conclusion that the word can be used for any gecko that is to young to be sexed.

    Rules~

    1) Follow the theme guidelines.

    2) Two pictures per entry, one entry per person.

    3) Include a detailed description of the tank. Listing as many plants wood or other things in the tank as you can. Also give the tank size and the inhabitant species.

    4) All tank entrys must be in by Friday, April 25th. Voting will start on the 26th.

    Good luck to all.

"Juvie: any gecko that is too young to be sexed..."

i know that some people can sex a gecko at 4 months. so the tank has to be for geckos that are 1 to 3 months? i am still confused, i guess. i think of my 6, 8, 10 month olds to be juvies. i guess my geckos run small, but no one has dropped a bulge, and i don't know any of their sexes. just curious.

OKay..lets make it simple. If you have not been able to 100% sex it (100% being that you would be willing to sell as a g. male or female) and its not over 20g then we can call it a juvenile. Hows that work?

    here goes nothing:

this is a 12x12x18 inch exoterra tank.
it houses one 8.81 gram R. Ciliatus
    standard background.
there is some sandblasted grape wood, a terra tunnel, some river rock, a medium biovine, and a brown "twinkie" in the top left made from foam covered in silicone/coco and suction cupped to the glass. he sleeps on there.

on a bed of hydroton balls and coco: some ivy, clovers, irish moss

ive also "modded" (haha, i love modding) the tanks front ventilation to flow more efficiently, as u can see in the first pic.

    thats pretty much it!
    thanks so much for looking!

This is one of my old school baby tanks. They have since become much more boring. This housed my male when he was a baby with his buddy. It is a 15 gallon tank (24x12x12"). All plants are plastic or silk, there is a piece of malaysian drift wood, fake vine, and cyprus mulch substrate.

I have to spruce my baby cage up; it's kind of slipshod right now. After exams are finished this week, I should have a little more time to think about geckos. (Not that I don't think about geckos constantly anyway.)
