Make sure you get out to San Diego for this event. It is a beautiful time of year to visit Southern California and meet Top Reptile Breeders from around the World, have the opportunity to buy exotic animals and the newest supplies and learn about the care and breeding of Reptiles. It should be a SUPER time!!

ok who's going? i'm excited. we're driving down late wednesday night and staying at the all-sorts-of-pet-friendly (including herps) sofia hotel a block or 2 from the show, which is now 30% off when a 3+ night stay is booked through travelocity.com, plus an additional $50 savings when paid for with a mastercard. the only catch is you have to pay at the time of booking. parking is extra ($28/day onsite).

thursday we are going to visit both of LLL Reptile's retail store locations (anyone else know of a good shop to visit in the area?), emerald forest bird gardens in fallbrook, and carlsbad state beach. anyone want to meet up for dinner?

friday our first day at sea world (open until 11pm), saturday the show and afterwards, our second day at sea world. sunday the zoo (open until 8pm) and driving back home.

if anyone wants tickets, i can get the following discounts (i have included a couple extra dollars for my gas and time to pick up the tickets), which i can send to you for actual shipping cost via first-class certified mail (under $5) or other trackable method, or you can pick them up from me in san diego. no refunds or exchanges (per union rules).

    sea world TWO-day ticket (1st and 2nd visit must occur before 7/31/08) - adult $50 (reg. $59); child age 3-9 $43 (reg. $49)
i do not believe you can get 2-day tickets directly from sea world.
you may also order from the website between 5/24-9/1/08 and save $15 on adult and $5 on child SINGLE-day tickets by entering the promo code "SWCViaSmr08"

san diego zoo OR wild animal park - adult $31 (reg. $34); child age 3-11 $22 (reg. $24)
    (expires 3/31/09)

legoland - general admission - $45 + 2nd day for $1 (expires 1/31/09; 2nd visit must be within 9 days of first visit)
(adult reg. $59, child age 3-12 reg. $47)

I am concidering if I should go or not. I kind of want to, but it is an awful long drive and there is a show here - sacramento,ca in september. Is it really as good as they say it is and how does it compare to the sacramento one? I would appreciate any input. thanks

I'm going! Its going to be my first show and I'm really excited. I'm driving up to LA on Thursday night with my parents, my sister, and my man and were going to Disneyland all day Friday then driving up to SD to stay with my sister and then Sat at the show!!
Just curious get you get better deals on reptiles at these shows or is it pretty much the same as the deals you find online?

it is a long trip if you're only going for the show's sake, but i'm using it as an excuse to make a vacation out of it because i love it down there. i haven't been to this particular show, but if it's anything like anaheim, and i have a feeling it is, if not better, then sacramento sucks in comparison as far as size and selection.

yay dana! i haven't decided if i should go to disneyland in september or november. you do get better deals at the shows i think. a lot of folks sell there who don't sell online, and many times, they are anxious to sell off their stuff so they don't have to pack it up and haul it back, or they're trying to make room for other stuff. you can get steals by the end of the day sunday, but i always like to get there right at opening so i get first pick.
