Default "All I want for Christmas...."

    is a bigger water bowl.

Kai is a happy boa today. She had a nice juicy rat late this morning, then took a bath, and now she's happily sunning herself.

"Not sure I can fit in here anymore mom..."

    She managed though!

Ya know... I've had my RTB now for almost exactly 6 months and I've never seen him go in his water dish. I mean I've read that snakes that spend to much time in their water dish may have parasites or mites and stuff but still I have NEVER seen him in his water dish. I don't know why but it aggravates me.

I think they look cool just hanging out in their dishes. I want to take a picture of mine in his

I can assure you she is 100% parasite free, and it's completely normal to take a soak once in awhile. I probably see her in it once a month, if that, but not sure how often she actually utilizes it.

But yes - snakes that soak excessively may have mites, etc...

Haha I wasn't even remotely thinking that your snake might have parasites. I was just generally stating.

Indy, do you ever let her "take a bath"... swim around in the tub with just a bit of water in it? is this necessary for their shedding?
    thanks.

I have't yet, being that at this size she can still fit in the bowl. I do know a lot of people on the RTB forum do that as they get larger. I suppose she could do it now and start getting used to it though. She's never had any problems shedding - good temps and good humidity and it all comes off in one piece.
