    As far as volume goes:

Length x Width x Height x .00433= Number of Gallons

How many animals did you have for a $300 cricket bill? Last time I was purchasing crickets in bulk (admittedly over a year ago) they were about $15 for 1000 shipped... that means you were using 20,000 crickets a month??? That's a TON .

Okay, if I decide on breeding, I will try Colleen T's way. Except the roaches part, I hate roaches.

They're still that much, I feed red eyes and it's so much easier to order them over the net.

(Copying one of my "Ghann's" invoices)

    5/8" Crickets (1,500 ct.)- 2 boxes @ $15.69 ea.

    1/2" Crickets (2,000 ct.)- 1 box @ $19.49 ea.

    1/4" Crickets (2,000 ct.)- 2 boxes @ $19.49 ea.

    Pinhead Crickets (1,000 ct.)- 1 box @ $11.69 ea.
    ---------------------------------
Order Total (with Next Day Shipping)= $166.79 (minus a few bucks if you wanted 2nd Day Air.)

That's just for one order... and I would order every other week. Of course, this would go to feed my entire collection, which included pygmy chameleons (I'd split the 1/4" crickets between the crested hatchlings and the pygmies). Yeah, it was a lot of crickets... and, no, I don't miss having to unpack all of them. Lol!

Just out of curiosity, did you find that you actually received the amount ordered? IE: open a box of what's supposed to be 2 thousand and it's really more like 500?

    WOW. That's a ton of crickets :-). I didn't like dealing with 2000 at a time.

Thankfully, Ghann's has never shorted me on crickets. I never sat there and counted them, but if I ordered 2,000... they sent me about 2,000.

Now PetsMart is a totally different story. You have to sit there and count them, b/c they will rip you off BIG TIME. I've had them recount them several times because they kept trying to send me home with seriously reduced numbers. *shakes head*
