    Default A very sad sight....

This poor little auric hatched out yesterday. Beautiful colors, bur very deformed. This is the first critter that I have ever hatched that has had any abnormality.... anyone care to venture a guess as to what is going on here? Doctor Alan?

Not without an x-ray. Her tail is wavy too - sort of like older lizards with subclinical MBD. This doesn't necessarily appear to be a lethal deformity and it will be interesting to see what happens as she matures.

Poor little cutie Was she the sole egg, or were there others??
I would name her 'Quasi' (as in modo).....Good luck with her--she's a beauty.

More info: This hatchling came from the end of the breeding cycle... the sibling egg failed way early and was not fertile. I generally don't put dates on auric eggs, but I know this one was incubating for a long time before hatching. Parents have spawned many beautiful, healthy offspring. They eat GGD and occasional crickets and are very healthy.

    Already thought of Quasi. :-)

It does not look compromised... but does appear to scamper or gallop rather than move like a normal hatchling.

It is really colorful! I'm sorry it has problems! Keep us updated, I'd be interested to know how it's getting along!
