Nice! I must say, the Odatria complex are by far my favorite varanus. Thanks for sharing!

He's gorgeous! Is that his tail just beside him in the first pic? It's half buried, half showing... barely. How big is he? Will he need a huge enclosure or is he a mid range size at maturity?

See Jeremy's (Tokays) response below for answers. He might not need anything bigger than a 40g breeder, but I'm hooking him and his future mate with huge vivs--4' wide x 2' deep x 3' high. Those are individual cages might I add.

Capone is alright with handling but has the nasty habit of "relieving" himself on me when he's ready to go back. Definitely something I'll be working on breaking.

No worries Jeremy...

That doesn't sound like it's much bigger than an ackie. I meant to look these guys up earlier.

When the babies start coming, let me know... I'm fairly used to critters adorning me with "unmentionables" :D Seriously, I'd love to have one of these and by the time you have some available, I may be up to speed on proper care and what not (plenty of time to research ;) )

gorgeous! reminds me of an anery ackie! I always wanted to get V. tristus tristus, but never got any and then sold the ackies.

Now I have to look up V. tristus tristus. What does getting rid of ackies have to do with getting the other kind?

ok. I'm thinking I really want to get into them. At least an ackie or two, maybe a savannah and then a tegu.
