Thats one I've never seen in Arizona, is it a montane species?

I think that's one of those little devils that stung me on the pinky toe a few years ago!! Hurt like a MUG! Are those common in wooded areas? As far east as Texas? :shock: We had tons of scorpions where I used to live, they were in between the boards of our deck, under landscaping timbers, and would occasionally come into the house... hence the sting.

Well honestly i think you may have got tagged by a C.vittatus...Wich span from texas to Colorado.Low venom and are semi aboreal.

Interesting... I'll look em up. It's been like 10 years since it happened but I remember the PAIN!! It was about equivalent to a bee sting, which I found out the hard way this summer:cry: Way worse than a wasp ever thought of!!

No, thank you. I looked it up, I'm pretty sure you're right. Little bastards. The bee sting was a funnier story, though. Flew up my shorts when I was fishing with a friend and stung me on the ass. I cried. It hurt for days.

Yeah, I know. Everyone gets a good laugh out of that one. It flew up my shorts and landed on my ass, I had no idea what it was so I made the mistake of swatting at it and smashing it under the fabric. He got a little angry about that. My friend was laughing so hard, here I was crying and trying to make sure there's no stinger stuck in my butt cheek, but how do you do that in public? I couldn't just drop my shorts, although it hurt so bad I almost did. Meanwhile once my friend could catch his breath he starts taking pictures of me crying and holding my ass. SIGH. I hate fishing now!!

I saw a couple of guys on TV put a bunch of those live in their mouths. One of the guys got stung a bunch of times inside and outside his mouth, and had to go to the hospital. He didn't look too good. I think the show was ripleys believe it or not. On that note.....very cool! Josh
