Hey everyone,
Peter Alexander, proud owner of old faithful. Some things about me are I love having my own way, I am maybe the most impatient person, I hate waisting time, love relaxing, I hade leopard geckos, love rhacodactylus, My first real herp was a blue tongue skink "blue" she is 8 and still my "baby". I say real herp as house geckos and green tree frogs dont really count. I live in Cape Elizabeth, Maine. I love the ocean and surfing and swimming. I have been swimming for a long time, and hate swimming competitivly, but love just swimming around. I love nights and warm summer days and plan to move to North Carolina in a few years as I love the state. I am trying to get into Davidson College, although my grades arent as good as they good be. Oh yeah, I love being lazy sometimes. I love ice cream and talking in spanglish as I wish I was part spanish. I love survivor and my dog. I love Maine herp laws also.  and live by them  . I love soda, and havent drank water in years, as its too plain, but enjoy fruit 2o and other fake waters that tase good, ice tea, and juices, milks just ok. If I could meet someone on this forum it would have to be crestedlady, as shes so cool! By the way, I love and live for RHACODACTYLUS/ Old Faithful!

I love blue tongue skinks! We had one when I was working at PetsMart that was the sweetest thing in the world. He peed on everyone but me. Lol. Almost took him home, but someone bought him before I could. Been in love with them ever since. :D

North Carolina is alright when it's not hot and humid. The only problem is that there's only 2-3 months out of the year when it isn't! Lol. J/k. It's alright here. We just had a ton of rain from hurricane "Ophelia". It was funny to see the weather reports on the NC beaches. Everyone was screaming that the winds were blowing and that it was a terrible hurricane... but there were barely any waves and the sky was just a bit gray with some sprinkles. Lol. I guess people are still hyped up from Katrina, though. The very word "hurricane" now throws weather people into a frenzy.

He he he. Finally, someone gets it! 8) 8) 8)

Maine winters suck! :? (in my opinion)
I'm really not looking forward to it because it just means that I won't be able to buy any animals that need to be shipped for a good 6 months because of the crappy temp drop  .

Do you surf in the winter?? That sounds......... uncomfortable to say the least  .

Your winter's suck!!! try living right by Buffalo, we get the worst of winters in the U.S.

I wouldn't know about Buffalo... never been there :) . All I know is that we're already getting frost some nights where I live, and it usually snows for the first time in November and continues snowing off and on until March. Sometimes we'll have a snow storm in April or something but that's not common. Buffalo is a good 3 hours south and 500 miles west at least.... I can't imagine that it could be worse than Maine. I mean... we are the furthest state north  .

Oh trust me it's alot worse we live right by the lake so we get "lake-effect snow storms" (hence the name), where we could get up to 8 feet of snow in one storm and 60 mile hour gusts. I have a feeling this year is going to be a bad winter too!

Awww. I'm so envious!! I live in a harbor town. The whole thing stretches across a few miles of coastline so we get some pretty bad wind chill. We don't get quite as much snow living on the coast but ice storms are a big problem. Last year I got caught out in freezing rain and my car slid a good hundred feet backward down a hill I was driving up to go home. I didn't realize how slick the roads were until I got out of my car (once it came to a stop facing up the hill on the opposite side of the road  ), and started to slide down the hill myself! Needless to say it was a long night :? .

What are your low temps like in Atlanta? Do you get any hurricanes or anything scary down there?

marina, low temps are like 30's, just at freezing. we do get remnants of hurricanes that pass through every now and then. After katrina passed through we had some bad tornadoes just south of the city that did some pretty good damage. What worries me the most about living in a city where it snows a lot is the ice and the bad weather conditions that it makes for driving.

 Tornadoes!! That's too much scary weather for me. Thirty isn't so bad but it does make for some terrible ice storms I bet. Why can't there be a place that's like 70 degrees all year around with no freak natural disasters? :?

I think no matter where you live your putting yourself in the way of some kind of natural disaster.

I know right, I lived in Wilmington, NC for 6 years (just moved over the summer) and I just went up there to the beach for the hurricane to go surf (yeah I am one of idiots who you see on tv surfing during the hurricane :P ) and it was really choppy but there was endless 6-10 footers and you could surf right into the streets. It was so much fun but now my arms are killing me from paddling out (god that current was strong). Atleast the water was warm.

Glad to see I'm not the only surfer/swimmer here how is surfing in maine I went surfing/kayaking in Newfoundland but it was to rocky. and the water was freezing I was wearing a 7mm full body wetsuit and I was freezing my ass off but the waves were HUGE. (like 20 feet)

Glad to meet you again.
