I have a friend who has a single african fat tail female - apparently wild caught from what we hear, but 3 1/2 weeks ago she layed 2 dud eggs, he brought them straight to me for incubation and i have experience with leopard geckos, i've read incubation temperatures are about the same so that should be fine, but just today he brought me 2 more eggs, these ones appear a lot healthier than the last and i think they're good eggs, but just in case i was wondering if fat tails are known to lay more than 1 clutch of dud eggs or could these ones be fertile even though she hasnt been with a male since my friend got her? any advice would be appreciated! thanks.

Have you candled them? It's possible she retained sperm, so who knows.

no i didn't really attempt to candle them as they were just layed tonight, it usually takes some time before you can tell by candling right?

I believe the little red circle should be there after being laid. I'd at least try.

to be honest i dont even have a proper light lol, i usually just hold them up to the light bulb in the room so its kinda hard haha. my light from last year disapeared on me haha. i'll go pick one up tomorow and have a look i supose, i'd like to properly candle the rest of my eggs too anyways lol, but i for the most part know whats going on with my eggs so havnt been too concerned with it yet.

i have the ugliest crested gecko egg i've ever seen, has a huge dent on the bottom and a horrid looking shell but i keep them around in a reject container and today just for whatever reason i looked at it in the light and it very much looks like something is goin on in there....i'm new with the cresteds and i bought 3 females and the next day they all layed eggs, im not sure if they were layed due to stress or something but about half of them dont look so good, the other 3 are doing great...
