So my girlfriend and I have been arguing about me getting another crested gecko, my birthday is tomorrow. She was very set on NO.
now i know why,
When i got off work today she surprised me with a sweet little boy from petco.
Half off gecko sale how could she say no.
However, He has a bit of a wavy tail and quiet a large dimple at the base of his tail. Seeing as he is the biggest gecko i have, 10g i cant compare to my others to see if this is normal. He is a nice gecko, very dark flame with white frills kneecaps and portholes, hes cool. but my other geckos are 3 and 5 grams and i do see a dimple on the base of their tailes but since they are so small i cant say if his is normal. Any ideas?

pictures? i think i know what you're talking about, and if it is i believe its normal.
i think i read on here that the wavy tail could be connected to dehydration, not just a lack of calcium. i had a gecko that had a slightly wavy tail when it was younger, so i made extra sure to keep the humidity at a good level, and added a little pure calcium to the CGD a couple times a week. i'm not sure what did it, but it corrected itself.

im adding pics now,
Also I misted heavily when i put him in his tank cause at petco it always seems kinda dry so dehydration seems very realistic.

Also Would anyone agree he looks male?
And His Tail Kinda Humps up from that dimple, is this all cause of dehydration? he has been licking the walls of the tank for like 15 mins

his tail looks pretty kinked, and it does look like he's got some bulging there, so it kind of looks like he's male. the "dimple" is normal i believe, i've seen quite a few of them like that.

ya so do we think it could just be dehydration?
is mbd in the question?

That dimple seems a bit floppy tail to me. Which occurs when the little shits hang up side down with their tails over their head at 90 degree angles. not good. That is a rather large dent. May want to consider bringing it back and exchanging it. It will have a perfectly happy life but would be something that is best not to breed. I could be wrong.

No breeding intentions here, so Im keeping him, Ya his tail seems a little strange, seems to hump upwards when he stands flat on the ground. Will he be ok Health wise?

The Floppy Tail wont harm him if you provide him some more plants for him to hang out in- to discourage him from hanging upside down.
If you let it go long enough it can and will effect the way your geckos pelvis is aligned, so more plants and vines for him to climb on is a must :)
I did notice, however, in one of the pictures it looks like he's got a little fecal matter smeared around his vent area. You probably will want to get him into a vet for a fecal and deworming, just in case.
