Ok, today, I was handling my gecko Shirako in my living room. It looked like he was about to poop so I picked him up before he did it on the couch and what was trying to come out looked like his guts or something. It was blood-colored and I dont know what could be wrong with him. And then after it retracted, he started nipping at the vent but this is normal for him when he has anything on his body. I feed him a steady diet of CGD and dusted crickets, but could this be a late symptom of MBD? He has had it before and it seems like he has healed OK. Please help me with this! He is my best looking and first gecko and he is only 8 months old.

Calm down. He was probably cleaning his hemipenes. Its common for males to do this. Was it like this:

I can't really tell because of the color in that video but it looks sort of like that but he was nipping at it instead of licking.

CritterCollin: I hope your crestie is ok.
MaddoxDobes: That has to be the funniest video I have seen in awhile. Loved your comments! My boy does that too, but I haven't seen him do it for quite as long as your guy. wow! :D

CritterCollin - In the video, that crestie was giving his *ahem* "man parts" some nips. I believe he even bit it a couple of times. I hope that is all that was going on with your little guy.
