I've got a 16" x 16" x 29" cage, and by cage I mean it's mesh. Everyone with some sort of intellect knows that it means it's not great with the holding of moisture. So as I'm thinking of how to prepare it (I'm going to make it a viv as a means of using the plants to up humidity) I figure that plants alone wouldn't bring up the humidity enough (correct me if I'm wrong).

I've read on here, somewhere, that a bowl of water would help. I may do that. Anyone here use a bowl? Any problems with it? Other suggestions?

Any and all help would be much appreciated. :)

Thanks in advance!

All of my cages have bowls in them. The size of the gecko determines the size of the bowl. I've seen most of my geckos drink from them and none have had problems that I've seen. All of my cages have layboxes, too. Even my boys like digging around in them and they're nice and humid.

I also have covered my mesh cages with plastic wrap, except for the front. Seems to help with the humidity, especially after misting. Isn't attractive, but if you're not worried about that it might be worth it!
