I know a lot of you guys and girls keep other geckos..........lets see them!
Heres a mossy leaftail I had once upon a time.

And this is a very rare Paroedura masobe, many of these were imported back in 2000 and sadly they did not take well to captivity and as far as I know nobody was able to figure out how to successfully keep these guys. It's really too bad because in my opinion they are one of the coolest geckos in existence.

Do you find Goniurosaurus luii's easy to care for Alan?

Do you find Goniurosaurus luii's easy to care for Alan?Care seems straightforward and simple. Horizontally oriented enclosure with a lot of humidity, a hide area and a bit of warmth. Dusted insects every other day or so. But I've had this WC pair for close to three years and they look healthy and have grown but have not produced eggs, so maybe I'm doing something wrong....

I believe there are CBB chinese cave geckos now and I'm looking at getting into them before too much longer. I rarely buy WC animals, I try heavily to avoid it. So they are pretty hardy then? As far as the breeding, are you cooling them down for several months? The cooling period is incredibly important for them to breed.
P.S. Btw, love the new sig, makes me feel safe at night knowing he's running our country...

Could you suggest or outline a cooling protocol {hits head with palm of hand}? Thanks.

Well, from what I've been able to find out, you need to treat them like snakes almost. Slowly reducing feeding to one or two times a week while dropping their temps into the low 70's-mid 60's. Keep them on lowered temps and reduced food from Oct or Nov til about March. Fatten back up for a month or so while raising temperature, then they're supposed to breed about 6 times before needing cooling again.

Hmmm, I am thinking about those Chinese cave Geckos too. The first time I saw some in person I was blown away. What is their personality like? And do they keep the red eyes their whole life? What a goregeous animal.
