wow, these pics just reminded me it's been long enough that I've quarantined my male gargoyle and that I'm going to have to get a cage to put my pair in together now :)
those gargoyle babies are so cute...I can't wait

Silly-atus what are you using as incubation medium?

Silly-atus what are you using as incubation medium?

It's ceramic soil, been using it for about 6 years now. The brand is Aquatic Plant Soil from Profile
Products LLC http://www.turface.com/lawn/lawn_3.html
If you can find Turface (a soil additive) in bulk, it's the same product, but less than half the price. Unfortunately, I have to settle for the pond soil, can't find Turface. The particles allow for great air exchange all around the eggs even if they're buried completely. What I really like is that the ceramic doesn't mold like organic products. The particles have microscopic pores which hold only so much water so you won't likely have it too wet like peat or vermiculite. There's no weighing needed either to see if you need to add water. The clay changes colour slowly as it dries, one glance and you can tell if it's time to moisten it again. It can also be sterilized and re-used until the cows come home :)
Many years ago a European product called Seramis was discussed on the GGA list. I couldn't find that here in Canada but did find the ceramic soil so I tried it. Instantly got hooked, I'm never switching back to peat, perlite or vermiculite.
